About Sbarter

Sbarter is building a community-first platform for real-stakes competitive gaming events. We make competitive play more social, more accessible, and more memorable, while building trust through transparent systems, creator-led events, and publisher partnerships.

The role

We’re looking for a Community Manager to be the everyday voice and presence of Sbarter, where our players and creators already are. You’ll set the tone in our own spaces, show up genuinely in the wider gaming communities, and run our day-to-day on social. Less a megaphone, more the person people recognise, trust, and want to talk to.

You’ll be part of a team of game industry veterans who have created and shipped AAA games, built globally impactful competitive gaming programs, and grown communities in the millions. We care more about good judgement and a real feel for gaming culture than diplomas. If you’ve built or grown a community before, even if it was a passion project, that counts.

What you’ll do

1. Community management

  • Be a visible, trusted presence across our communities: set the tone, keep spaces healthy, keep conversation moving.
  • Welcome newcomers, answer what you can, pull in the right person when you can’t.
  • Surface and celebrate player and creator moments: the wins, the clips, the rivalries worth talking about.
  • Help manage and grow our community leaders programs.
  • Support community moments and events (challenge nights, tournaments) on the community side, alongside the team running them.

2. Out in the wild

  • Show up in the communities our players already live in (game subreddits, Discords, creator servers) as a genuine participant, not a walking advert.
  • Build real relationships with community leaders and creators, and bring those relationships back to the team.

3. Social media: X

  • Own the day-to-day on X: plan and run the calendar, post, reply, keep the account active and on-voice.
  • Jump on the right moments in real time, gaming culture, games we support, community wins, with good instincts for what fits and what doesn’t.

4. Listening

Keep track of what strong community and social work looks like across gaming and competitive play, spot tactics worth borrowing, flag risks early.

Stay close to what players and creators are saying, feeling, and asking for, and bring that back to the team.

Must-haves

  • Hands-on community management in gaming, esports, or creator communities, with examples of a community you’ve built or grown.
  • Excellent written English and a natural, human tone.
  • Genuinely fluent in gaming culture: the memes, the formats, the etiquette, the rhythm of social.
  • Comfortable being a public voice for a brand, with sound judgement when things get heated.
  • Confident running social accounts day to day, keeping them lively and on-tone.
  • Light content-creation chops (quick clips, simple graphics) for community posts.
  • Self-starting, organised, and reliable on a calendar (remote).

Nice-to-haves

  • Comfortable on camera or streaming, so you could lend the Content Lead a hand now and then
  • Familiarity with competitive or real-stakes play formats
  • Reddit and broader platform fluency

Contract & logistics

  • Flexible hours, with some availability around community moments and live events
  • Compensation aligned with experience

How to apply

  • A short note on a community you’ve built or grown, and what your role was
  • 2–3 links to community work or accounts you’ve run
  • Optional: anything you’ve posted or made that you’re proud of
