1.1 Getting Started
Sbarter is a decentralised protocol that enables players to compete in skill-based events — challenges and tournaments — with real stakes attached, across a growing library of video games. It is operated by Sbarter Limited, a Malta-incorporated company fully controlled by Association Sbarter, a Swiss non-profit association that governs and maintains the protocol. Sbarter is not a game, not a casino, and not a gambling platform. It is a neutral technology layer that makes competition meaningful.
Sbarter is built for three types of participants: players who want their skill to mean something; creators who want to engage their communities through competitive events; and video game publishers (VGPs) who may choose to enhance the protocol experience by providing verified match data. All three are equally essential to the ecosystem.
Sbarter is compatible with games that produce clear, verifiable results — win/lose or score-based — where players choose their own opponent. The game catalogue grows continuously and is driven by the community. Check the in-app library for the current list of supported games.
Sbarter opens to new countries progressively, following a regulatory review in each jurisdiction. The community is informed as new markets become active. If the app is not yet available in your region, it means the legal verification for that market is still in progress. Follow official Sbarter channels for updates.
Yes. The Sbarter app is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
No. The blockchain infrastructure runs entirely in the background. The app handles wallet creation and transactions automatically. You fund your account, choose a game, and compete. That is all.
1.2 Account & Verification (KYC)
Download the Sbarter app, enter your email address or phone number, and follow the onboarding flow. You will complete an identity verification step (KYC) before you can create or join events. Once verification is confirmed, your account is active.
Verification exists to keep the protocol fair for everyone. It confirms that every participant is a real person, is of legal age, and is competing from an eligible country. Sbarter does not use this process to build a profile on you — it is designed to protect the community, not to monitor individuals.
A government-issued identity document (passport or national ID) and a short liveness video check. The process is conducted by SumSub, an independent identity verification provider. Sbarter does not receive or store your identity documents.
No. Your documents are submitted directly to SumSub via their secure platform. Sbarter never stores, views, or accesses your identity documents at any time. The only data Sbarter retains is your email address or phone number, date of birth, and country of residence. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the minimum legal age applicable in your country if that is higher. Age is verified during the KYC process and enforced at protocol level.
Verification normally completes within a few minutes. If your account is still inactive, check your email or in-app notifications for any additional steps required. If the issue persists, contact support@sbarter.com.
Sbarter uses geolocation to enforce compliance with applicable law in each jurisdiction. If a mismatch is detected, you may be temporarily restricted from events. Please contact support@sbarter.com to resolve the situation.
No. The use of VPNs, proxies, or any tools that conceal or misrepresent your location is strictly prohibited under the Terms and Conditions. Accounts found to be using such tools may be suspended.
Update your country of residence in the app settings as soon as possible. If the new country is not yet available on Sbarter, your access to events may be restricted until the platform is active there.
No. Each person is permitted one Sbarter account. Creating multiple accounts violates the Terms and Conditions and may result in permanent suspension of all accounts.
1.3 The SBT Token & Wallet
SBT is the utility token of the Sbarter protocol. It is used to enter skill-based events, pay protocol fees, and — in the future — participate in protocol governance. It is not a financial instrument, not an investment product, and not a form of currency or e-money. See the SBT Whitepaper for full details.
You can acquire SBT Tokens through compatible third-party cryptocurrency exchanges, or directly within the app using the fiat on-ramp, which allows you to fund your wallet in your local currency. Sbarter does not sell SBT Tokens directly.
The Sbarter Wallet is a non-custodial wallet embedded in the app, generated automatically when you create your account. Built on the Solana blockchain, it allows you to hold, send, and stake SBT Tokens. Non-custodial means Sbarter never holds your private keys or has access to your funds — ever.
No. The Sbarter Wallet is non-custodial. Sbarter does not hold, store, control, or have any access to your private keys or your SBT balance at any time. Your assets are under your sole control.
A Session Authorization allows the app to execute a defined sequence of related on-chain operations in a single session — for example, converting funds received via the fiat on-ramp directly into SBT Tokens — without requiring you to confirm each individual step. Before granting one, the app clearly shows you the operations covered, the duration, and any applicable limits. You can revoke it at any time. Operations already executed cannot be reversed.
Because the Sbarter Wallet is non-custodial, Sbarter cannot restore access to your private keys or recover your SBT Tokens. If you lose wallet access, you will need to complete the KYC process again to create a new verified wallet. Please keep your login credentials and recovery information in a safe place.
1.4 Funding & Payments
You can fund your wallet directly within the app using the fiat on-ramp, which supports a wide range of payment methods — including credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and local payment options depending on your country. The available methods are displayed in the app and vary by region.
Yes. From launch, you can convert SBT Tokens back to fiat through the in-app off-ramp. This process is managed by third-party providers. Sbarter does not process or facilitate these conversions directly.
No. When you use the fiat on-ramp, you interact directly with the third-party provider under its own terms and privacy policy. Sbarter acts as a referrer only and does not process, store, or access your card or banking data at any point.
Each event deducts a Protocol Transaction Fee, automatically applied by the smart contract. This fee is fixed, non-refundable, and displayed before you confirm participation. Standard Solana network (gas) fees may also apply. There are no hidden charges.
Yes. Entry amount ranges are defined at the protocol level for each game and region. These limits keep competition proportionate and fair. The applicable range is displayed when you create or join an event.
1.5 Challenges
A Challenge is a skill-based, 1-versus-1 event between two players, created through the Sbarter app. The creator sets the game, game mode, winning condition, entry amount in SBT, and any minimum Integrity Score required. Both players stake the same amount into a smart contract; the winner receives the combined total minus the Protocol Transaction Fee. Settlement is automatic — no manual intervention is possible or required.
In the app, select a game, set your parameters, and confirm. A smart contract is generated automatically. Your challenge appears in the lobby until another player accepts it. You can also send it privately to a specific follower.
Yes, but only before another player accepts it. Once a second player joins and both entry amounts are locked in the smart contract, the challenge is immutable and cannot be modified or cancelled.
The result is resolved automatically — either by oracle data from the VGP (where available), by matching result submissions from both players, or by the Community Dispute Resolution mechanism if there is a disagreement. Settlement is instant and handled entirely by the smart contract.
A private challenge is visible only to, and can only be accepted by, players you follow or who follow you. It is the best way to compete directly against friends or specific community members.
Yes. Open challenges are visible in the lobby, where you can browse and join those that match your game preference, skill level, and entry amount.
1.6 Tournaments
A Tournament is a multi-player, multi-round competitive event built on the same protocol as challenges. Any verified user can create one. Tournaments may also be organised by Event Makers for their communities, with branded formats and dedicated prize pools.
Any verified user with a sufficient Integrity Score can create a tournament. Event Makers have access to additional configuration tools and larger event formats.
Yes. A tournament creator can fund a prize pool directly, making participation free for all players. This is a common format for community events and brand activations.
Prize distribution is automatic and governed by the smart contract, based on the rules set by the tournament creator. No manual intervention is required or possible at settlement.
Browse open tournaments in the app, check the entry requirements and prize structure, and confirm participation. Your entry amount is locked in the smart contract immediately upon joining.
1.7 Results & Disputes
Results follow a three-step process: (1) Oracle resolution — if the game has an active VGP oracle integration, it feeds the verified result directly to the smart contract. (2) Matching user submissions — if no oracle is available, both players submit the result independently; if submissions match, the smart contract settles automatically. (3) Community Dispute Resolution — if submissions conflict, the event is referred to an independent panel of verified community members.
When a result cannot be determined automatically, the protocol selects a panel of independent, verified users to review the evidence submitted by both players and decide the outcome. The panel's decision is executed automatically by the smart contract, is final, and is binding on all participants. Sbarter does not participate in, supervise, or influence this process in any way.
When your event is referred to Community Dispute Resolution, you will receive an in-app notification with instructions. You can submit gameplay screenshots, video clips, or other relevant recordings directly through the app, within the permitted timeframe.
No. Decisions made by the Community Dispute Resolution mechanism are final and binding. Sbarter does not review, override, or adjudicate outcomes. The protocol is decentralised and neutral, and Sbarter does not act as a judge between players.
A Non-Validated Event is one where the result could not be established through any of the three mechanisms. In this case, the smart contract automatically refunds all entry amounts to all participants. Repeated involvement in Non-Validated Events may affect your Integrity Score.
Gameplay takes place entirely within a third-party video game, outside the Sbarter protocol. Sbarter has no control over in-game performance, game servers, or connectivity. In the event of a genuine technical issue, use the dispute mechanism and submit relevant evidence.
1.8 Leaderboards & Integrity Score
The Integrity Score is a protocol-level fair-play metric, automatically calculated based on your event participation history — including validated results, dispute frequency, and community resolver conduct. A higher score gives you access to more events, improves your leaderboard visibility, and signals to other players that you are a reliable competitor.
By participating consistently, submitting accurate results, and avoiding disputes. Fair, reliable play is what the score measures and rewards.
Yes. Submitting incorrect results, repeatedly triggering Non-Validated Events, or voting in bad faith as a community resolver can reduce your score. Adjustments are automatic, governed solely by protocol rules, and are not reviewed or manually overridden by Sbarter.
No. Integrity Scores cannot be purchased, traded, or transferred. They are personal, non-fungible, and earned entirely through behaviour on the protocol.
The ELO rating measures your competitive performance across all challenges — whether played as individual 1v1 events or within tournaments. It increases when you beat stronger opponents and decreases when you lose to weaker ones, creating a dynamic, merit-based ranking.
1.9 Privacy & Data
Sbarter collects the minimum data necessary: your email address or phone number, date of birth, country of residence, and your public wallet address. Your identity documents are handled exclusively by SumSub, our independent KYC provider, and are never retained by Sbarter. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
No. Sbarter does not sell your personal data to any third party, under any circumstances.
Your public wallet address and transaction history are recorded on the Solana blockchain — a public, immutable ledger. This is a fundamental characteristic of blockchain technology and is outside Sbarter's control. Your wallet address alone does not reveal your name, but third parties may independently attempt to link on-chain activity to your identity. See the Blockchain Transparency section of the Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes. You can request account deletion and erasure of your off-chain personal data at any time through the app settings or by contacting support@sbarter.com. Data permanently recorded on the Solana blockchain cannot be deleted. Certain data may also be retained for up to five years where required by law. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, restrict, port, or erase your personal data, and to object to certain types of processing. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@sbarter.com.
Contact support@sbarter.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Malta Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) at www.idpc.org.mt, or with the data protection authority in your country of residence.
1.10 Security
Sbarter uses encrypted data storage, strict access controls, and regular security reviews. Your identity documents are held by SumSub using bank-grade security standards. Your wallet is non-custodial — Sbarter never holds your private keys, which means your funds cannot be accessed or moved by anyone other than you.
Yes. The Sbarter smart contracts have been audited by CertiK, a leading blockchain security firm. The audit report is publicly available on the Sbarter website.
Contact support@sbarter.com immediately. Secure your device and change your login credentials. If you believe your wallet private keys have been exposed, transfer your SBT Tokens to a new secure wallet without delay. Sbarter cannot access or recover wallet private keys on your behalf.
All Sbarter events and transactions depend on the Solana network. Network congestion or outages may delay transaction execution. Sbarter has no control over external blockchain infrastructure and is not liable for network-level failures. We will communicate disruptions through official channels.
Sbarter uses Lit Protocol for decentralised key management. Under this model, sensitive data is encrypted so that only you and the relevant smart contract can decrypt it. Sbarter itself does not have access.
1.11 Technical & App
The Sbarter app is available on iOS and Android. Check the App Store or Google Play for current minimum version requirements.
No. Your Sbarter Wallet is created automatically during onboarding via social login. You do not need to download a separate wallet app, manage a seed phrase, or have any prior crypto experience.
No. For Players and Event Makers, the full Sbarter experience is available exclusively through the mobile app. There is no web interface for players or creators.
Close and restart the app. If the problem persists, contact support@sbarter.com with a description of the issue and, if possible, a screenshot. Our support team will investigate.
1.12 Rules & Eligibility
The Fair-Play Policy prohibits: cheating or using unauthorised tools; falsifying results or evidence; manipulating network latency; multi-accounting; collusion; exploiting bugs; circumventing geographic restrictions; using bots or automation; voting in bad faith as a community resolver; and violating the terms of any third-party video game. Violations result in Integrity Score reduction, suspension, or permanent account termination.
No. Sbarter does not offer gambling, games of chance, lotteries, or any activity where outcomes depend on luck. All events are skill-based — outcomes are determined exclusively by player performance in the game. Sbarter does not set odds, profit from player losses, or rely on chance. Stakes make competition meaningful. They do not make it gambling.
Depending on the severity, consequences range from an automatic reduction of your Integrity Score to temporary suspension or permanent termination of your account. Serious or repeated violations result in a permanent ban. Enforcement is automated where possible; manual review may apply in complex cases.
Yes. Only game modes that produce clear, verifiable results are eligible. Random or luck-based modes are not supported. The eligible modes for each game are listed in the app.
2.1 Getting Started as an Event Maker
An Event Maker is anyone with a community — whether a content creator, influencer, streamer, esports organiser, guild leader, or community manager — who uses the Sbarter protocol to host competitive events with real stakes for that community. Event Makers are one of the three pillars of the Sbarter ecosystem, alongside players and VGPs. They are not simply a promotional channel: they are the architects of their community's competitive experience.
Contact Sbarter via the app or at support@sbarter.com. Each application is reviewed individually on the basis of community size and engagement quality, the nature and consistency of content or activity, competitive gaming credibility, and overall professional standing. There is no automated approval process.
No. The creator dashboard and tools are provided free of charge to approved Event Makers.
Yes. Like all Sbarter users, Event Makers must complete the standard KYC process to access the protocol. This ensures eligibility and compliance in every jurisdiction.
Sbarter looks at community size and engagement quality, the nature and consistency of content or activity, demonstrated competitive gaming credibility, and professional standing. The objective is to ensure that Event Makers can deliver genuine value to their communities through fair, well-organised events.
2.2 Organising Events
As an Event Maker you can organise challenges (1v1) and tournaments (multi-player, multi-round). Your creator dashboard — within the app — gives you additional configuration capabilities compared to standard users, including expanded tournament formats and prize pool options.
Any game available in the Sbarter library in your jurisdiction. The catalogue grows continuously and is driven by the community. Check the in-app library for the current list of supported games.
Yes, within limits set by the protocol. These limits are in place to ensure a fun and fair environment for all participants. Entry amounts and prize pool configurations are defined within the ranges established by the protocol for your region and game type.
Yes. You can fund a prize pool yourself, allowing your community to participate at no cost to them. This is one of the most effective formats for community activation — your followers compete for real prizes without having to stake anything.
Yes. You can set minimum Integrity Score requirements, limit participation to followers, or define other entry conditions within the options available in your creator dashboard.
You promote your events on your own channels — Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Discord, and others — using your own voice and community relationships. Sbarter may also feature events on the platform. Your off-protocol promotional activities — sponsorships, side-prizes, brand deals — are your own responsibility. Refer to the Terms and Conditions for the applicable rules.
2.3 Earnings & Monetisation
Event Makers can retain a management fee from the events they organise. This is the primary monetisation model within the protocol for creators.
Earnings are settled automatically through smart contracts upon event completion and distributed to your Sbarter Wallet in SBT Tokens.
Yes. You can convert SBT Tokens to fiat using the in-app off-ramp or any compatible third-party exchange. Sbarter does not process conversions directly.
Tax obligations related to earnings from events depend on the laws of your country of residence. Sbarter does not provide tax advice. You are solely responsible for understanding and fulfilling any applicable tax and reporting obligations.
2.4 Your Community
Your community members can participate as long as they are in countries where Sbarter is available. Sbarter is expanding to new markets progressively — follow official channels for updates on new country activations.
Yes. All participants must create a Sbarter account and complete KYC. This ensures a fair and compliant environment for everyone involved.
Sbarter provides the creator dashboard, full protocol access, and technical infrastructure. Additional operational support may be available on a case-by-case basis through the Event Maker Programme. Contact your Sbarter representative for details.
2.5 Rules & Responsibilities
As an Event Maker, you are responsible for defining event parameters within the protocol's rules, complying with all applicable laws in your region and those of your community — including influencer disclosure requirements, age-gating obligations, and local gaming regulations — and ensuring your promotional activities are transparent and legally compliant. Sbarter is not a party to your off-protocol activities.
Yes, but these are entirely your responsibility. Off-protocol rewards, sponsorships, and side arrangements fall outside the scope of Sbarter's services and are governed solely by applicable laws and your own agreements. Sbarter accepts no liability in connection with such arrangements.
Violations apply equally to all users, including Event Makers. Serious violations may result in suspension of your account and Event Maker status.
Yes. Sbarter may suspend or terminate Event Maker status in cases of material breach of the Terms and Conditions, the Fair-Play Policy, or conduct that brings the protocol into disrepute.
2.6 Platform & Dashboard
The creator dashboard — accessible within the Sbarter app — provides tournament creation and management tools, event participation analytics, earnings overview, and advanced configuration options not available to standard users.
No. All Event Maker tools are available within the Sbarter mobile app. There is no separate web interface for creators.
Yes. The creator dashboard includes analytics on participation, results, and engagement for your events. This data is visible only to you and is not shared with third parties.
3.1 Understanding the Protocol
Sbarter is a community-driven, decentralised protocol. The games available on the platform are selected by the community, and Sbarter ensures that only skill-based games with verifiable outcomes are eligible. VGPs are not required to participate — games can be listed through the Community Dispute Management pathway without any publisher involvement. Where a VGP chooses to engage with the protocol, they may elect to operate as a verified oracle, providing certified match data to the smart contracts. This is a voluntary service. Sbarter does not profit from player losses, does not modify games, and does not require exclusivity.
Sbarter can list games using the Community Dispute Management pathway, which does not require a formal agreement. However, for full oracle-based result verification and access to the oracle fee mechanism, an active integration agreement is required.
No. Sbarter only requires access to match result data via an API. No changes to gameplay, game servers, or player experience are required. Integration is intentionally lightweight.
No. Joining the Sbarter protocol as a VGP involves no cost to the publisher. VGPs who integrate and act as oracles can, conversely, earn revenue through the oracle fee mechanism.
Sbarter gives publishers a new, compliant competitive layer on top of their existing game — increasing player engagement, session frequency, and retention, without requiring gameplay changes or significant development investment. VGPs who choose to act as verified oracles can configure an oracle service fee as compensation for providing certified match data to the protocol and its players.
3.2 Integration Options
Two paths are available: (1) API Oracle Integration — your game provides verified match data directly to the Sbarter smart contracts via a dedicated API. Results are automatic, tamper-resistant, and instant. This is the full integration pathway and enables the oracle fee mechanism. (2) Community Dispute Management — your game can be listed immediately without any technical integration, using player submissions and community resolution as the verification layer. This enables onboarding with zero development time.
This depends on your existing API infrastructure. Sbarter is designed to minimise development resource requirements. A technical scoping session is part of the onboarding process and will confirm timelines for your specific game.
Yes. Games can start with Community Dispute Management and migrate to full API oracle integration at any point. Sbarter supports this transition and provides technical guidance throughout.
3.3 The VGP Portal
The VGP Portal is a dedicated web interface provided to registered publisher partners after their application and integration are approved. It allows publishers to manage their game listing, define rule sets, configure game previews in the app, set oracle fee parameters, and access analytics with granular permission controls.
The portal is accessible via a dedicated URL provided by Sbarter following successful application and integration. To begin the process, contact us at support@sbarter.com.
The portal provides control over entry amount bands (min/max stakes per event for your game), game-mode rule sets, event eligibility criteria, and geographic access settings. Administrative controls allow country-level blocking and user-level restrictions.
Access is role-based and restricted to authorised personnel. A roles-and-permissions system ensures granular access control across your team.
3.4 Oracle Fee & Monetisation
The oracle fee is a share of the Protocol Transaction Fee that VGPs who act as verified oracles may configure as compensation for providing certified, tamper-resistant match data to the smart contracts. It is a voluntary mechanism available exclusively to publishers with an active API oracle integration.
Oracle fees are settled automatically by the smart contract upon event completion and distributed in SBT Tokens to your registered wallet.
No. Your role as an oracle is a technical function. The presence of your game on Sbarter, or the receipt of oracle fees, does not constitute endorsement of the Sbarter platform and does not create any broader commercial or legal relationship beyond the integration agreement.
No. The oracle fee mechanism requires an active API oracle integration. Games listed under the Community Dispute Management pathway do not generate oracle fee revenue for the publisher.
3.5 Data & Compliance
Sbarter does not share player personal data with VGPs. The protocol is designed with data minimisation as a core principle. Data flows in one direction for oracle-integrated publishers: your game provides match result data to Sbarter — not the other way around.
Sbarter conducts a jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction legal review before activating each country. Games are only made available in markets where Sbarter has confirmed legal compliance. The admin portal includes country-blocking controls that allow Sbarter — and, to a defined extent, VGPs — to restrict access by geography.
Sbarter is pursuing formal MiCA compliance through its Malta-incorporated subsidiary, Sbarter Limited, in coordination with the MFSA. The SBT token whitepaper has been prepared in accordance with MiCA requirements.
No. Sbarter is a neutral technology provider. The selection of your game by a user to create an event does not imply partnership, endorsement, or authorisation by your company, does not give users any additional access to your game, and does not modify your game in any way. All event outcomes are determined by smart contract logic.
3.6 Partnership & Onboarding
Contact Sbarter at support@sbarter.com or through the official VGP partnership enquiry channel. You will receive the VGP Partnership Pack, which outlines the onboarding process, integration scope, and commercial terms.
The process includes: an initial commercial discussion; a technical scoping session to assess integration requirements; execution of a formal integration agreement; technical implementation and testing; portal access provisioning; and go-live activation. Sbarter is committed to a streamlined, low-friction process.
Sbarter provides a designated contact for escalation and reporting, technical support for integration maintenance, and access to self-service reporting in the VGP Portal. Operational updates and protocol changes are communicated in advance.
Yes. Withdrawal from the protocol is governed by the terms of the integration agreement. Sbarter will work with you to manage the transition, including communicating changes to the community with appropriate notice.
