Sbarter has been in the press many times since it was publicly revealed. Here’s a first wave of coverage from around the world, and what journalists and our team had to say.
The launch, as the press saw it
When Sbarter came out of the workshop in autumn 2025, we wondered how the industry would react to a real-stakes competition platform built by a Swiss non-profit. The answer came quickly, and from more countries than we expected.
GamesBeat‘s Dean Takahashi profiled the launch, describing the first protocol specifically engineered to enable fun and fair, skill-based gaming competitions, and sat down with the team to unpack how a non-profit structure changes the incentives (GamesBeat).
In our own words
Talking to Gamelevate, our CMO Dominique Cor kept the pitch simple: “Sbarter is a way for players to make their skill count.” Or, as he put it later in the same interview, “there’s no randomness, no hidden advantage, no ‘house’, only pure skill” (Gamelevate).
GamesMarket, the European games industry B2B magazine, dug into the publisher side. Dominique’s answer to what studios care about: “Sbarter strengthens their existing game rather than disrupting it.” He was equally direct about the gaming community’s wariness of anything money-adjacent: “that skepticism is healthy” (GamesMarket).
Around the world
The conversation didn’t stay in English. Germany’s GamesWirtschaft ran its own interview with Dominique (GamesWirtschaft). In Italy, Corriere Nerd, HWUpgrade and Cryptonews Italia all covered the launch. Brazil’s Flow Games, Terra and TechCripto picked it up in Portuguese, Merca2.0 covered it for Mexico, and Nairametrics looked at what skill-based gaming could mean for Africa’s digital economy (Nairametrics).
Six languages, four continents, one idea: competition where skill decides the outcome.
