Ever wondered what goes on inside the mind of a true competitive gaming fan? As part of our testing and development strategy at Sbarter, we open our doors and welcome the feedback of some of the brightest and most experienced minds in the industry. Meet Petar: with a 17-year journey spanning from his own competitive Warcraft 3 days to organizing world-class events. Today, he takes us behind the scenes to share his unique vision on what truly drives players and why grassroots communities are the future of competitive gaming.
The Mind of a Competitor
Petar describes himself as an analytical and methodical player. For him, competitive gaming pushes you to your limits, much like traditional sports. It is not just about beating an opponent, but about proving something to yourself and achieving personal growth. He loves analyzing his own replays, as well as those of his teammates and opponents, to constantly learn. Studying professional players to understand their thought processes—why they make moves he wouldn’t—is a habit that he says builds his character. What truly hooks him isn’t just the game itself, but the addictive nature of constant progression, refining skills, and mastering strategic layers.
From Player to Organizer
This deep passion started with his own aspirations to compete in Warcraft 3 at the World Cyber Games. Although he realized he didn’t quite have the mindset for the absolute professional level, his love for the competition naturally led him to the organizational side of esports. Over his 17-year career, working as a project manager and tournament administrator for world-class events like Intel Extreme Masters and DreamHack with ESL, Petar found a new way to connect with the community. Organizing gives him a profound sense of belonging and the creative freedom to build the best possible environment for competitors, sponsors, and fans, ultimately fostering the global esports ecosystem.

Understanding the Audience
As both a fan and an organizer, Petar knows that audience expectations vary drastically by game genre, but the universal key to engagement is relatability. Fans want to connect with the players, community influencers, or even the game’s characters. Personally, his expectation is simple: he loves watching tense, high-stakes battles between skilled players, especially during the deciding matches of a series.

Building the Future with Sbarter
Petar strongly believes in a motto from his past experiences: “building a world where everybody can be somebody”. He rarely joins projects he doesn’t believe in, but Sbarter’s enthusiasm and potential immediately reminded him of that core philosophy. He sees the platform as highly community-friendly, giving smaller creators, influencers, and grassroots communities the tools to start from zero, organize events, and get paid instantly.
This unique collaboration highlights Sbarter’s ultimate vision: to build the platform not just for players, but continuously with them, closely involving passionate experts like Petar over the long term.
